mugged (coffee style)

These are a few of my favorite things. ~ Sound of Music

Do you have a favorite coffee mug? Maybe one that has special meaning/value to you? Well, I have several and I thought I’d share them with you, in no particular order of which I like best.

This mug is special because Rob and I met in San Diego the summer of 1993 on a mission trip. This was the mug we got to represent the summer. We’ve had it since then and it’s help up pretty well. We met that summer and you know how the story ends.

This is the cutest mug because it was a Christmas present from my 3 nieces a few years back. They made it at a paint your own pottery place, and it has their prints all over it, literally. The bee and the lady bug are thumb prints of the 2 oldest girls. And the obvious foot print is that of they youngest, who was a baby back then. Another cool thing about the footprint is that it’s supposed to be the Palmetto tree of the South Carolina state flag.

These are my sister’s dogs and they are stinkin’ adorable! I’m a dog lover and don’t have one so I like to use this mug to remind me of them. They make me smile. They each have their quirks. Whenever I go to visit my sisters they let the dogs sleep with me. They’re both bed hogs.

Rob and I were in Thailand for a conference last April (the hottest time of the year). We had heard so many good things about Chiang Mai that we decided to take a few days vacation after the conference. It was much hotter in Chiang Mai. But we loved the city. It’s smaller than Bangkok, less polluted, food less expensive, and it was just wonderful! Yes, this is a Starbucks mug, but I’ll never forget our short time in Chiang Mai.

This last mug reminds me of the day and night we spent in New Orleans before Katrina. We were driving through and decided to stop in New Orleans b/c we’d never been and had heard so many good things. Unfortunately, no one told us that going during the hottest time of the year would be miserable and smell like garbage. However, besides Bourbon St, we did enjoy the city. And we definitely enjoyed iced coffee with fresh Beignets at the famous Cafe du Monde. I think we ate tons of them. Sooooo goooood. BTW, in Orlando Super Target sells the Beignet mix.
