I can’t believe I’m still watching the 2nd hour of this show. I had to record it which is why I’m watching it now.
I’d have to say ANTM has finally jumped the shark. What was up with the cheesy first hour: robots, ridiculously cheesy effects. Really, was all that necessary?
And yet I’m still watching. I’ve been a fan of the show for awhile but I think I’m done with ANTM. I think I’m actually tired of reality shows except for my favorite, “The Amazing Race”.
These reality shows are all about the drama and I have enough drama in my life so why would I want to watch more shows with made up drama? I just want to watch fiction. Even if there’s drama in fiction at least I know it’s not real.
BTW, I watched the season premier of Bones tonight and loved it!
I think I’ve said I watch Big Brother every summer. This season hasn’t been very interesting until this week! Thank goodness it wasn’t a unanimous vote to get someone out of the house this week. Seriously, how boring is that?
I’m looking forward to watching this next week. Finally, people are thinking for themselves. Plus there’s gonna be more conflict. This is when it gets interesting.
- Didn’t care who got voted out
- I want Dan to stay b/c he’s entertaining.
- Memphis – cool but too quit
- Jerry – liked him at first but not anymore
- Renny – Love her! she’s fun to watch
- Ollie – no respect for him
As for Julie Chen’s outfit this week – HORRIBLE!!! Who does her wardrobe? She’s a very pretty lady but some of her outfits just aren’t right. This week it just wasn’t right.
Last night I didn’t fall asleep until 3 am.
Who knows when I’ll be able to sleep tonight. It’s already 1:15am. I get into these weird cycles of not being able to fall asleep at my normal time of 10pm and it can go on for over a week. It sucks. I have too many thoughts running around in my head. I keep yelling at them to go to sleep. But that never works.
So for now here’s what I did today. I woke up feeling sick. I’ve had some kind of bug for awhile and it’s not going away. I was getting ready for church when I decided I didn’t have the energy. So I stayed home and watched movies most of the day.
- High School Musical 2 – the 2nd time I’ve seen it. I love it b/c it’s fun and there’s singing and dancing. And everything is so innocent. High school for me was SO not like that. I think that’s why I like it so much. Can’t wait for the next one to come out!
- The African Queen – a Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart movie. They both won Oscars for the roles. I’ve been trying to watch more of the old movies. I really liked this one and the chemistry between the two was great.
- Save the Last Dance – 2nd time watching it but I liked it enough to watch it again. Again, I think it’s because of the dancing.
- The Tuxedo – Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt. It was a silly movie and was fun to watch. I love Jackie Chan. Rob and I used to watch his older movies that were dubbed into English before he starred in Rush Hour. Who doesn’t like Jackie Chan?
I think this is true of me, expect that I’m a female and, uh, Jim’s a guy. Who are you?
Which Office Character Are You?
|| You are Jim. You are personable, easy-going, and always socially aware. Your great sense of humor and impishness soften the blow of what might otherwise be a dark, cutting cynicism.

Yep, it’s 1:40 am EST and like the title said, I can’t sleep. But I did take a long nap during the day. I was in the middle of working on stuff when I started to get really drowsy and realized I needed a nap. Usually I do the 2 hour nap thing because if I get less of a nap it doesn’t help me out. But my hubby woke me up 3 1/2 hours into my nap.
Now even though I can’t fall asleep I’m still tired and sleepy but I guess not sleepy enough. What’s up with that?
Well, I’ve been pretty much under the weather – going on week 3 now. First it was the flu, then a sinus infection. Now it’s back to the chronic fatigue crap. My body’s whacked out again but after seeing my good doctor on Monday I’m on a plan to recovery. And I’m going to follow it b/c I want to FEEL BETTER!!! And have more good energy. So, no more sweets or lots of sugary things, lots of veggies, low carbs, and no dairy or wheat for awhile.
I’ll be honest by saying that since September I’ve been pigging out and eating awful. After all, Septmeber was our Mediterranean cruise and I HAD to eat the good food on the cruise and in all the countries we visited. On a cruise there are no diets allowed. Then came the holidays with more sweets and more good food. After that I had gotten into a habit of eating bad. And of course there’s the “must have chocolate chip cookies” when I’m stressed that doesn’t help one bit. And I’ve been stressed for awhile. But I think a lot of that stress is going away now.
What do I do when I can’t sleep? It depends. I blog. Sometimes I’ll do work. Other times I’ll watch movies. I think I’ll watch a movie after this. I recorded “Can’t Buy Me Love” the other day! Anyone remember that movie? I loved it when it came out. This is the movie with Patrick Dempsey when he was young. He was a cutie back then too.
Well, I have a busy day..later on today. Figures I can’t sleep the night before a busy day when I really need my brain to be working at full capacity. Oh, and I can’t drink coffee so that’s not going to help. Well, here’s to hoping and praying I fall asleep soon!
Goodbye and goodnight (even though it’s really morning). Ciao.
I just got back from seeing Atonement. I was the ONLY person in the theatre! Niiiiiice. Please forgive my British spelling. I spent a few years in Australia and the spelling has stuck with me to this day.
Atonement…what can I say. I really liked it. The acting was brilliant. The storyline was brilliant. But it’s a sad movie…a very sad movie. I wouldn’t be able to watch it again, but I’m glad I finally got to watch it.
My friend Mike wrote about it on his blog and his view is excellent. So go over there and read it.
In other news…I’m finally going to cook dinner for my husband tonight. Won’t he be happy to learn that!
I’m on vacation while being sick so I’ve been watching a lot of movies. I can’t even remember all the movies I’ve watched. Most of them weren’t the best but some of them were good.
We went to see Vantage Point this weekend. I left wanting more. There wasn’t any character development. And I didn’t like how it ended. It was a good idea gone wrong. Don’t waste your money on it. Today I’m going to see Atonement – the movie I’ve been trying to see for about a month now! Yeah, I saw the Academy Awards last night and it didn’t win. But I’m not going to see No Country for Old Men. I just can’t watch all that killing and violence.
Oh, I’ve been watching a lot of Katherine Hepburn movies – The Lion in Winter. I have other’s lined up on my DVR. For the most part I’ll watch just about any movie because I love movies. In fact, I love movies more than TV.
Oh, I’m rememering some of the movies I’ve watched:
- Becoming Jane
- Pride and Prejudice (again)
- Stomp the Yard
- Flag of our Fathers
- Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee
- and a bunch of others not work mentioning
It’s time. I’ve been waiting for over a week for the Academy Awards. This is my big event to Rob’s Super Bowl. I’ve just turned on the pre-Oscars events – mainly watching actors to see what they’re wearing. But I’m ready and I have my favorites for winning. We’ll see who wins.
And, Jon Stewart is hosting!
